"A Noise for a Noise" was first introduced in the form of an EP, entitled Industrial Welfare, that came out in 2011, some months after iX-Acht's first album was released online. The EP featured a few tracks that were later kept for the album: "A Noise for a Noise", "We Are Abominations" and "Pressure Dries Up". Stating with Industrial Welfare, iX-Acht then took a more industrial-oriented turn with the notable use of heavily distorted beats and rave-like rhythms as found in tracks like "Fantasmagoria", "Samira", "Lemme See Your Dreams", "This is the New World!", "1965" and many others.

There have been TWO MAIN EDITIONS for this release:

1. THE STANDARD "RED NOISE" EDITION includes all tracks in CD1 (15x MP3, 320kpbs), the red cover as well as Bandcamp-exclusive pictures.
2. THE 2CD "DARK NOISE" EDITION includes all tracks in CD1 (15x MP3, 320kpbs), CD2 (10x MP3, 320kpbs) and, the dark cover as well as even more Bandcamp-exclusive pictures.
